idiotnoir asked:

it’s been said the 2 books resemble Ayers style, and the fact that obamma has never produced any written material either before or since except for a really bad poem when he was 20.
Would you think less of obamma? after all, the 2 books comprise about 50% of his resume.

obamma met bill ayers while they were at columbia, long before the first book
how do you derive “rather good” from

” But after studying the poems he said that he was not unimpressed with the young man’s efforts—at least, by the standards established by other would-be bards within the political sphere” ???

you are drunk with kool aid!

Very unlikely. Obama had already written “Dreams From My Father” when he first met Ayers.

Obama’s actually published two poems, which are considered rather good — at least according to Yale literature professor Harold Bloom.

EDIT: No, Obama didn’t meet Ayers at Columbia. He met Ayers in 1995. You can speculate that their paths might have crossed before then, but wishing doesn’t make it so.

EDIT: Maybe the double negative threw you. “Not unimpressed” is equivalent to “impressed.”
